What it is
Solar Empire II is a text-based space 4X played in the browser, currently in very early access. You choose a permanent side, Imperial, Nomad or independent warlord, which sets where you start, then claim planets and stars, design ships, research, build structures and let freighters run your logistics while credits, fuel, metals and food tick up in real time. Players trade on a commodities exchange, negotiate peace deals that swap planets and resources, wage wars, take vassals and fund Imperial projects together.
