What it is
Gaia Online is a long-running social world built around customisable anime-style avatars. Members dress up, post across a huge forum network, trade items on a player-run marketplace and auction house, join guilds, and dip into games such as Lake Kindred, a creature-battling feature, alongside puzzles and chat rooms. Items and currency flow through Gaia Cash, subscriptions and daily rewards, so the economy and collecting are the core loop rather than combat. Founded in 2003 by Gaia Interactive.
