What it is
Planetarion is a long-running text-and-table space strategy game played in numbered rounds. Each player runs one planet, researches technology, mines asteroids and builds fleets, and the universe advances one tick per hour whether or not you are logged in, so a night's sleep can cost you asteroids. Galaxies and alliances, whose maximum size is set each round, coordinate attacks and defence, which makes politics on Discord as important as fleet orders; a main round runs about seven weeks before the next signups open.
