What it is
MagicDuel is a browser-based open-world sandbox adventure whose stated purpose is to educate the mind rather than offer an escape. Players explore a shared fantasy world, write quests that extend it for others, raise unique 'primordial' pets that grow according to what they are fed, and fight with creatures and tactic cards. The player base is small (the homepage counted a few dozen active players over 30 days) but the forum and in-game feeds showed activity within hours of this check, and the site's copyright runs from 2005.
