RaidWar

What it is

RaidWar is a free text-based MMORPG with a Viking flavour. You make a Berserker, Raider, Skald or Shield-Maiden, hunt creatures through six realms of rooms for silver and gear, and raid other players up to five times a day, spending rage that refills on its own. Taking silver creates a weregild debt: until you pay it, the victim can raid you without limit, and bounties let players put prices on each other's heads. Warbands open shared raid bosses that are worn down together over a day, and a paid gold currency buys convenience only. Its FAQ says the realm also has a simulated population of computer-run characters that are not marked as such.
