What it is
Grendel's Cave is a browser adventure game built on the Beowulf legend and Norse mythology, online since 1998. You create a thane, choose a kingdom, fight monsters, trade with shops, gather magic and amulet pieces across the nine worlds, and join a tribe whose standing is tracked on a public ranking page. The web game is free with optional subscriptions, lives and Patreon perks; a separate single-player 2D version is sold on Steam.
