What it is
Adventure Land is a pixel-art fantasy MMORPG that runs in the browser and openly welcomes automation: you can play by hand or write JavaScript that farms monsters, upgrades gear, crafts and trades for you, with up to four characters online at once. Equipment is upgraded and combined with a chance of failure, a peer-to-peer economy lets you leave a merchant stall open all day, and PvP maps raise the stakes with better drop rates. The game is open source; a copy is bought on Steam or the Mac App Store, and a free sign-up is offered to people who want to use it to learn coding.
